If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father's Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Becca who nominated Rodger of Montgomeryville-Lansdale.

What makes your dad extra special?

My father has the best way of sending casual text messages about non-casual things. The other week, he was helping a friend move a car into his garage and ended up getting his hand crushed. Very casually, he sends my sister and I a text message, with a picture of his now "S" shaped hand/wrist, and just the words "I think it's messed up." Nothing more, nothing less. The point to all of this is that even though he shattered his wrist, he was more concerned about his friend's car and if it has gotten damaged. This man goes above and beyond for people but is so casual about it, casual about the fact that his hand was clearly not great, casual in his text to his daughters, and casual about his now semi- long road to recovery.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

He is not the "spotlight" kind of guy, and I think he deserves it every once in a while. He goes out of his way to take care of everyone else.
